Our customer's favorite! The Master Picks expansions consist of over 40 brand new simulated drum kits each; modeled for the Roland TD-20 & TD-12 drum modules. What you will find in these incredible expansion packs are kits modeled to reflect 5 decades of famous and highly sought after brand name setups - matched as closely as the Roland drum modules can achieve.
Each expansion pack is a collection of kits that can be used in live and recording situations by hobbyists, weekend warriors and professionals alike. Professional gigging and recording v-drummers can expand their library of custom kits to accommodate many musical genres, eras and types of drums. These expansions are fully customizable allowing the user to continue adjusting the kits, triggers and calibrations to best match his or her playing style.
The Master Picks expansion kits are based on chart topping and live performance setups from over 5 decades. This expansion has been designed differently than previous V Expressions LTD expansion packs to achieve maximum flexibility in multiple situations and environments. The design of this expansion pack allows v-drummers full access to ambience and effects with complete output control in live and studio environments. The accompanying mini-tutorials will guide and help v-drummer choose the best setup, on-board effects and production choices for their needs.
Although ambience and general reverb effects have been added to all kits to produce a “live - in the room” sound, these settings can easily be turned off and/or adjusted or down by the drummer if a different tonal environment is desired.
These kits are not meant to sound like studio produced kits heard on albums, tapes or CD’s, but are engineered to simulate what the raw kit would sound like isolated on stage or in the studio with general clean, light mixing. This design results in authentic sounding kits ready for continued mixing, post production and output to recording and live performance consoles.

Important note: Remember to change the module's pad settings to MATCH YOUR PADS. By doing so, the correct volumes and pad response will take affect for your module and setup.
Hint: Your setup does not have to match ours! If you have a different set up than default, you can easily move instruments around within each kit. This is accomplished by using the "COPY" feature in your module.
Q: How do I order and download my purchase?
A: Click the PayPal button for your product in the "Purchase Now!" tab below. Please use an active/permanent email address. This email address is your registration. Following payment, click "return to merchant" to continue to your download. If you are not forwarded correctly by PayPal to your download page, simply contact the programmer of your expansion to confirm payment and have your file(s) sent. Upon purchasing our products, please remember you agree to our no-share policy and End User License Agreement. Our products are considered software. We do not issue refunds.
Q: What are the TD-20 installation requirements?
A: Download and installation requirements for the TD-20 are a 16mb-512mb Type I Compact Flash card, CF card Reader/Writer and computer with internet and email access. Detailed installation instructions are included with your file(s).
Q: What are the TD-12 installation requirements?
A: Installation requires midi connectivity from your TD-12 to your computer/sequencer. Connecting via computer requires a librarian such as VDrumLib (recommended) and a midi interface such as the Edirol UM-1EX (recommended) USB-to-MIDI interface cable. Note: additional SySex Utilities can be found on our support page under "tools"!
Q: What are the differences between the TD-20 and TD-12 expansions?
A: All common settings between the two modules are exactly the same. The primary difference between the 12 & 20 modules will be the loss of reverb and other rarely used multi-effects the TD-12 does not offer. This is mainly limited to reverb in our expansions.
