Metal Mania for the Roland TD-6 & TD-8 drum modules is a specially designed pack for general use. For all experience levels and functionality, this pack will deliver a powerful enhancement to both modules.
Metal Mania features 20 modeled artist drum sets from their original recordings. Jam along with your favorite metal drummer on this pack. With 5 popular drummers from each decade starting with the 1970’s and ending in the year 2008, this pack gives you widely sought after drum sets for hard rock and metal use. We have also included 5 additional custom built kits for the metal head in you! Use these kits to create your personal metal/ hard rock masterpieces.
Crafted mainly using stereo headphones and studio quality monitors, these kits are designed for general use with your kit. Mixer settings have been optimized for stereo headphone and recording output use. As always, minor adjustments may be needed when recording and/or monitoring with headphones to suit your personal tastes.
TD-8 version is based on a standard V Custom set-up including Aux 1 as a Tom 4 and Aux 2 as a china cymbal. All the kits are uniform in level and panning.
TD-6 version is based on a standard V Tour set-up. For TD-6V users: We have also enabled the use of Aux 1 as a china cymbal and programmed Tom 4. This pack will adapt to your configuration in this manner. Refer to page 70 in your TD-6V manual to set up the Aux and Tom 4 configuration using multiple pads.
With all our packs, when applicable, we highly recommend you load in our kits as a “Kits” only backup, to preserve your custom created setup unique to your e-kit. We encourage you to make a back up of both your kits and setup(s) before executing our download to your module.
All kits have been fashioned using the onboard sounds of the module. These are not new samples or added third party material. The modules are not capable of uploading new samples to their wave boards. All sounds have been professionally formulated and highly tweaked for your satisfaction. You may notice an overall boost in the volume of the module versus the stock kits, as well as other enhancements to most of the instrumentation that make up these kits.
The Metal Mania expansion pack has been ear-created from scratch on its own platform. All kits have been tested in a general use capacity. You will need a midi connection from your computer to the module to properly execute this download as well as a transfer program such as V Drum Librarian. Check your manual for further requirements using the midi bulk dump features.

Remember to load in the “Kits” only and not “All” info. If you load in “ All” info from the USB drive, you will lose your trigger setup and this pack will have serious level and balance issues. Read the loading instructions carefully and follow the steps precisely for a fluid, trouble free transfer

Metal Mania includes the 2 following setup styles with each module.
TD-6 Users:
MMTD6.syx should be used with a CY12 r/c or CY15R as your ride cymbal. This pack file has been designed with the separate Bell sound on the Rim ride trigger (RDB) and Bow sound on the Head ride trigger ( RD). Plug into the bow/bell trigger for proper use.
MMTD6X.syx utilizes the X ride sample. The Head ride trigger will play the bow sound of the ride along with the bell sound sticked slightly harder. The Rim ride trigger will play a crashing edge sound. This is for use with most CY cymbals and PD pads.
TD-8 Users:

Q: How is the kit arranged?
A: Our expansion packs are designed around default setups. Custom auxillary inputs are noted above. (note, not all inputs or their programming are availbale to all modules)

Important note: Remember to change the module's pad settings to MATCH YOUR PADS. By doing so, the correct volumes and pad response will take affect for your module and setup.
Hint: Your setup does not have to match ours! If you have a different set up than default, you can easily move instruments around within each kit. This is accomplished by using the "COPY" feature in your module.

Q: What are the TD-6/8 installation requirements?
A: Installation requires midi connectivity from your TD-6/8 to your computer/sequencer. Connecting via computer requires a librarian such as VDrumLib (recommended) and a midi interface such as the Edirol UM-1EX (recommended) USB-to-MIDI interface cable.
